1. Recruitment
Recruitment is the core of our business. Each assignment
we manage is unique and we start with no pre-conceived
ideas as to how it should be approached. We utilise all
recruitment methods to identify and attract candidates
as necessary. We are experts in handling volume response
to multi-position advertisements and in finding that one
key person for a top-level role.
We start by meeting with the client
to gain a full understanding of the company’s operations,
the role and its importance to the organisation. We work
with the client to define the job description and candidate
specification as well as advising on prevailing market
conditions and the compensation required to attract suitable
candidates.
Recruitment is an expensive activity. We are always aware
that it is important to deliver value for money and we
are as careful with our client’s budget as we are
with our own. Our commercial terms are kept clear and
concise and elements of our fees are frequently dependent
on a successful outcome to an assignment.
To identify candidates we use the following techniques.
Search
Search is a method of identifying candidates through research
and networking. Direct approaches are made to candidates
to communicate the attractions of the role and to ascertain
their suitability and interest.
When there is a confidential position to be filled or
if there is a scarcity of a specialised skill, it can
be appropriate to use Search. Potential candidates at
a senior level may be unwilling to respond to advertising;
similarly, clients may wish to distance themselves from
candidates until a short-list emerges. Search is characterised
by its confidentiality.
Recruitment Advertising
We have in-house capability to handle all aspects of recruitment
advertising. Our experience enables us to recommend the
most effective media and the appropriate advertising style
to reflect the nature of the position and the image of
our client.
Recruitment advertising is most effective when there is
a large target audience or a medium that addresses a specific
group from where a candidate is likely to be identified.
Job
Boards
Recommendations from our candidates help keep us up
to date regarding which sites are the most relevant
for specific roles and disciplines. This feed-back,
together with our experiences in advertising our own
assignments, means we are well-placed to recommend the
most suitable sites for a client’s requirement.
Contingency Reserve
Through the assignments we manage we are aware of a
wide-range of talented individuals seeking new opportunities.
Often, we are able to match these candidates to a client’s
requirement saving time and the expense of advertising
or engaging in Search activities.
Candidate Verification

Once candidates have been identified
a careful matching process commences to provide our
client with a choice of candidates that not only have
the required technical ability and experience but also
the soft-skills that make them compatible with a particular
organisation. Our rigorous selection procedures include
telephone screening, face-to-face interviews and employment
and qualification checking. Through the services of
an occupational psychologist we can offer a range of
tests and assessments designed to help predict a candidate’s
suitability for a particular role.
Throughout the recruitment process - from identifying
candidates to ensuring pre-employment procedures are
completed - we are there to advise both candidates and
client with the aim that the recruitment process is
as efficient and speedy as possible. After a candidate
has been appointed we remain in contact with both parties
so that any issues encountered during the initial period
of employment can be quickly resolved.

Advertising Consultancy
In cases where a client undertakes recruitment in-house,
we provide an independent and comprehensive advertising
service. This includes advising on suitable media, writing
advertising copy, design & production and the purchase
of media space.
